About Us
Who We Are
We are a member of The Catch The Fire Leaders Alliance (formerly known as Partners in Harvest) which is a global fellowship of ministries, radically pursuing Jesus and pressing into His love. Each ministry is individually governed but we share common values.
The Senior Pastor, Mary Jane Storey, is ordained with Partners in Harvest.
We are a people from all walks of life who are on a journey together. We don’t have all the answers but we love God and we know that God loves us.
We are a church fueled by great faith and we’ve seen God do things that only He can do.
We endeavour to develop a culture of honour, that is, a culture where people avoid intentional offense to others, and a culture of grace where Love covers other people’s faults, does not complain about them and does not seek to expose.
We come and connect with our God and connect with each other corporately. We believe something powerful happens when the body of Christ comes together in one accord.
Our worship gatherings are for God, not for us. We believe that active, participative, obedient worship is our highest calling. We are all unique in our worship style. Some get excited and dance and lift their hands and shout; some sing and pray in their native tongue or the gift of language, others connect with God in quietness and rest and all are welcome. We believe that worship is a lifestyle and is to be extravagant in its many expressions.
We also believe in the gifting of God’s people by the Holy Spirit, and that all the gifts of the Spirit are for today and are to be eagerly desired and used by faith. You will see all spiritual gifts manifested during services at The Gathering Place. These gifts include (based on 1 Cor. 12) wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, tongues and the interpretation of tongues.
We celebrate that every believer has a vital contribution to make to the health and well-being of the body and that mercy triumphs over judgment in all relationships.
We endeavour to foster a safe environment that gives room for people to make mistakes as they grow in the things of the Spirit; and that the flow of the Spirit often is as messy at times as it is powerful.
We believe church gatherings should be the coming together of family to celebrate God and each other.
